Write, Draw, Repeat

Time and time again creators will sit down to work and they have a plan set. They often have an idea about how long projects should take and what will be completed each day. As a creator, there is one factor I frequently forget to include. (I’m sure other creators know what I’m talking about).

LIFE

Life has a lot of twists and turns that occur which may pull anyone away from their projects. This includes personal situations like getting sick, getting hurt, or simply lacking motivation to work. Or maybe there are outside situations which pull you away from progress. A friend is in town, a family member wants to talk to you, or fun events are happening in the city. It might seem silly for a creator to not include the chance for these things to occur, but once creation starts it is hard to think about anything else.

I have mentioned a few times I am writing a comic to share with others on a site called WEBTOON. I’m not certain how most creators on this site go about creating their stories, but I’m taking the initiative to do what’s best for me. First, I wrote the whole script for the entire story. Now, I am drawing up all the panels for each chapter. In the end, I’ll share the chapters weekly or biweekly with my audience. I imagine most creators write the story and draw the images slowly and then release them as soon as they are done. But truth be told, I don’t have the attention span to keep myself to this strict schedule. It might be risky sharing these details, but I want to be honest with anyone looking to view my story.

There are some ideas which haven’t been fully planned out, so there will be bonus content for Patreon donators once I create an account. (That’s an entirely new task I haven’t made a single attempt to touch yet. So I don’t have a Patreon account as of this date: 2/12/2020). I’ll also write short, bonus scripts for Patreon donators, so there will be even more reason to take up this offer.

As you can see, there are a lot of thoughts and plans being placed into this story. I can’t say when you’ll be able to see the complete project, but I can say progress is occurring. It hasn’t been easy. It hasn’t been quick. But it has been enjoyable. I’m glad I’m doing this and I hope, even with all this chaos in my words, you are as excited as I am to see the finished product.

After spilling all my guts out for my followers to learn I figure there’s nothing wrong with spilling out a little bit of a treat. The final appearance of the biggest players in the story.

Shelby-B is my creator name on WEBTOON.

I won’t say much about these three characters (the two cats are the same feline). All I will say is that they are very important players in the story. Who do you think they are? If you have been following my blog for a while you might have a couple guesses.
