You’re Moving Slowly, But You Better Not Stop Chasing Those Dreams!

What’s the one dream you carry close to your heart? I bet you think about it almost every day. Then you continue to dream about it through the night. And sometimes you get lost in conversations because one word sends you out of this world to think about reaching said dream. I believe everyone has these dreams. Sometimes they are foolish fantasies we believe we’ll never reach, but that doesn’t mean we let them go.

All my life I held on to the dream of writing a novel and having others enjoy my art. The best part? I didn’t let the dream go and I’m making it happen! I wrote and self-published the book I always dreamed to write (read sample here) and I run ShelbyBoydeArt through Etsy to sell my artwork. These major dreams I carried all through high school weren’t always easy to carry, but I never abandoned them.

All of your dreams are creations you made because you felt something strong pulling you towards them. Today, I am here to tell you to never abandon those dreams. There will be times when you are forced to put them on hold or set them aside for larger matters. These larger matters could range from a simple task like getting through a day of work (which might not be that simple) to something more complicated like a life-changing injury (been there, done that). But these matters should never force you to give up those dreams you hold so tightly. Yes, they could make accomplishing those dreams more difficult in some situations, but they shouldn’t make you stop.

The point of today’s post is simply to give you a little push in the right direction. I can’t tell you which direction this push needs to go, but I hope it is what you need to read today. We all need a little kick in the rear from time to time and this is my kick for you.

How do you encourage yourself or others when things seem hopeless?
