What’s Going On? A Fun Project!

Last week, I started reading the novel, Body Double by Tess Gerritsen. It’s an interesting book so far and I’m glad I finally chose to read it. The story will help me get into the correct mindset for my latest novel idea, and I am pumped to be working so hard. This work will pay off as long as I don’t let my personal jobs distract me too much.

At some point, I convinced myself I wanted to buy a bookshelf to call my own. A place to hold all my novels and my ever growing collection of manga. I got what I wanted, put it together, and let my mind continue to drift.
Where did my mind drift to? To my love for manga. Want to see what my latest project is?

The quote are also typed below with links to learn more about the different books and the authors, as well. There is a lot more to these stories, so I hope you check out everything available through these links. Manga isn’t a style for everyone but I think it’s a style many can learn to adore.

  •  “My happiness comes from the kindness of those around me,” Tohru Honda – Fruits Basket by Natsuki Takaya.
  • “A painless lesson is one without any meaning, one who does not sacrifice anything cannot achieve anything,” – Fullmetal Alchemist by Hiromu Arakawa. (This is the manga I would recommend all to read. My favorite!)
  • “People are mirrors. If you smile, a smile will be reflected,” Zeno – Yona of the Dawn by Mizuho Kusanagi
  • “I just don’t want to take for granted the kindness of that person who helps me,” Teru Kurebayashi – Dengeki Daisy by Kyousuke Motomi

I speak English and had to rely on many online sites for the translations. If anything is incorrect then that’s all on me and I apologize. All quotes are from manga I own or plan to own.

There are only four quotes right now, but there will be more because this is only one side of the case. I still have a tiny drop down board on the front and the opposite side to paint. Not to mention I still have a ton of work to finish on this side. I have to paint a bit more on the flowers, clean up the smudge marks on the quotes, and figure out what I plan to do with the characters’ images I want to include. (I’m thinking of making flat, clay, chibi characters, but the final plan is still in debate).

Right now I am aiming to own all my favorite manga. I can’t wait! Stay tuned for more images to appear as the shelves are finished…I promise I am still working as an author! I’m just taking a minor detour.

Do you collect novels, manga, comic books, or something else? Let me know in the comments!
